James became interested in psychology because he has a natural ability to listen and a fascination with how humans are the way that they are. He is especially interested in understanding how our sense of self develops through theory of mind, identity, and our experiences in the world.
Through his training and in his practice, James explores how this impacts our relationship to ourselves, our communities and the world around us.
During his studies at Macquarie University, James became particularly interested in how organizations work and how people interact in the workplace. His work experience includes roles in hospitality, the corporate world, and psychosocial support. This background shapes his focus on creating safe and supportive environments for clients and a particular interest in workplace issues.
In 2020, James completed a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Psychology at Monash University, where he researched professional identity development. He then worked with the not-for-profit Marathon Health Strong Minds Western Program in Bathurst, NSW, providing psychological support to individuals of all ages dealing with a range of mental health concerns.
Now based in Randwick, James sees clients at Spot On Health Hub face-to-face and/or via telehealth. He offers effective evidence-based therapeutic services to help clients with their wellbeing, resilience, and personal growth.
